What is Metaclinic?
Metaclinic is an exclusive online community that connects medical practitioners regionally and nationally. We link our members both on a professional and social level, by allowing them to join individual networks based on their location and medical specialties. Page Top

Why can't I use an alias or pseudonym?
By using your full name, the verification of your professional status is made easier. Moreover, we're aiming at creating a trustful and professional community. An untruthful or deceptive profile, or fake name, not only casts doubt on a particular member account, but it casts doubt on the community itself. Page Top

What does "Ignore request" mean?
When you send an "Add request" to a certain member, the other member has two proactive options: ignore, or accept. If they choose ignore, your request will become hidden to them and your name will automatically be added to an "Ignore" list in their profile. They will no longer receive "Add requests" from you, and may also customize their privacy settings so as not to receive messages from specific people in their "Ignore" list. Page Top

Can I adjust my "Ignore" List settings?
Yes. You can simply add people to your "Ignore" list. This means that you'll never receive any requests from them, unless you decide to remove them from that list. You can remove people from your "Ignore" list at anytime. This will automatically show all previous "Add" requests received from people who were on your "Ignore" list. Moreover, you can adjust your settings so that you would not receive messages from people on you "Ignore" list. Page Top

How many networks can I join?
You must join at least two networks: One "Location" network and one "Specialty" Network. You may however join up to two "Specialty" networks, in addition to your "Location" network. Page Top

What extra features do senior doctors have?
An attending and a program director have the ability to send online referrals among themselves. Moreover, other members can only contact them by sending an "Add request" to them. If they accept that, then you can freely message and interact. This is done so as to limit the amount of messages that a program director or an attending receive from less senior doctors. Page Top

Why English only?
English is the most common primary or secondary language of our members. It is also the most common language used in the medical practice. We want all discussions and content on the website to be accessible to our members. Page Top

What is a "Shout Out"?
A shout out is a simple way to communicate among members. You can offer things, share events, ask for help.etc. Please refrain from idle chatter in the "Shout Out" area. Be brief and informative. Page Top

Who can view my "Shout Out" posts?
You decide. Simply type in your message and then choose whether you want it accessible to specific networks or to all our members. Page Top

What things can I upload onto "My publications"?
Anything that is medically related. Presentations, articles, studies, research material..etc. Make sure to respect all intellectual property rights of any uploaded or downloaded material. We would certainly like our members to share material that is entirely their own. If not, make sure you provide proper references. Page Top
